Ptosis

Ptosis or “droopy eyelids” can occur in both adults and children. Not only can they make people look tired, they may also affect one’s vision and even prevent young children from developing normal eyesight.

Some children are born with a ptosis, and a comprehensive eye examination is important to ensure there are no other conditions that can be associated with it. Most people with ptosis develop this over time, due to the ageing process or contact lens wear. Ptosis may affect one or both eyes.

Ptosis surgery can lift the droopy eyelids and make you look fresher and more awake. It may be combined with other surgeries for rejuvenation of the eyelid area.

Whilst there are many excellent techniques for repairing a ptosis, Dr Ullrich utilises an approach that repairs the droopy lid from the underside of the eyelid. There are no cuts in the skin. Dr Ullrich will discuss whether this approach is suitable for you, along with the risks and benefits for your specific situation.
